Intensive English Programs
TIEC is home to the Texas Intensive English Program, the oldest intensive English school in the state of Texas. The mission of TIEP is to provide exemplary English language instruction, training, and student services. Since 1965, TIEP has helped more than 30,000 students and professionals from 131 countries to achieve their goals by strengthening their English skills and improving their communication skills. TIEP accepts individuals who are 17 years of age or older and does not require a minimum TOEFL or IELTS score for admission. TIEP offers customized, one-to-one English training for non-native speakers of English with our expert instructors, available throughout the year.
TIEP is able to offer virtual tutoring sessions.

- 1 person $75 per hour
- 2 people $85 per hour
- 3 people $110 per hour
- 4 people $120 per hour
- 5 people $130 per hour
- 6 people $140 per hour
Hours outside of our normal business hours and/or off – site (in Austin) – the tuition is an extra $10 per hour.

+ Schedule
- Students must enroll in a minimum of 1.5 hours of instruction per week for at least 15 total hours.
- Each hour of instruction is 60 minutes long.
- Sessions available for normal tuition rates from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday at Texas Intensive English Program heaquarters in Austin’s West Campus district.

For Groups
TIEP provides customized training programs for sponsoring agencies, governments, educational institutions, private companies, and individuals contracting special programs or private lessons to meet specific training needs and goals.
Study Abroad in Austin
Our Study Abroad in Austin program offers non-native English speakers the opportunity to pair immersive and intensive English classes with cultural activities and includes tuition, books, housing, and meals in Austin, Texas — one of the top travel destinations in the United States.
English for Special Purposes
Through our network of talented faculty across Texas university systems and the more than 50 years of experience with Intensive English programming, TIEP is uniquely positioned to create specially-designed programs in special subject areas for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners.
