DESCRIPTION:Join us for a captivating TIEC-member webinar featuring the esteemed guest speaker Elisabet Raquel García\, a Global Education DEI Specialist and Content Creator. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month\, this engaging session will explore effective approaches to promoting study abroad opportunities amongst populations at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). Gain valuable insights and practical tips from Ms. García as we strive to make study abroad accessible and appealing to all. \nElisabet takes an identity-based approach to supporting diverse populations of students to better meet their unique individual needs. She began her work as a 2x study abroad peer advisor at her alma mater\, UC Santa Cruz\, where she took designed tailored approaches to promoting outreach to historically undeserved student populations. \nSince then\, she has directed the ExchangeAlumni Ambassador Program\, a nationwide outreach program in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State\, designed to empower historically underserved alumni about federally funded international education programs. \nElisabet and her work have been featured by UC Santa Cruz Global Learning\, Terra Dotta\, CulturaGo\, Go Overseas\, NAFSA\, and Diversity Abroad. These days\, you can find her working on-site international education programs\, presenting and speaking on international panels\, and writing remotely from her home in East L.A.
