Hear from a Fulbright ambassador\, a Texas professor currently on a Fulbright program in Egypt\, and others to help determine what options are right for you and learn about best practices for applying. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nADRIA BAKER\, ED.D.\nRICE UNIVERSITY\, U.S. FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR ALUMNI AMBASSADOR\, RICE UNIVERSITY\, ASSOCIATE VICE PROVOST FOR INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION\nDr. Adria L. Baker is Associate Vice Provost for International Education\, Executive Director/Office of International Students & Scholars\, Director/Brasil@Rice in Rice University (for 20+ years). Dr. Baker has served in international education leadership roles and received service awards. Her key topics of publications/presentations include advocacy in global education\, public policy\, immigration\, cultural integration\, promoting transnational relationships. \nUnder her leadership\, Rice won top international education awards for strong Rice-Brazilian initiatives: 2020 IIE Heiskell award; 2015 Senator Paul Simon Campus Internationalization; 100\,000 Strong in the Americas. She has two International Education Administrators; Fulbright awards: 2021 France; 2013 South Korea. She is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar Alumni Ambassador\, Board Member Emerita of the Houston Fulbright Association Chapter\, on the Board of Directors for Brazil-Texas Chamber of Commerce\, and on the Advisory Board of Houston-Guayaquil Sister City. She was a Rotary Fellow at the University of Costa Rica and forges Rice-Costa Rican university relationships\, as well as other international education relationship-building opportunities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBRENDA MOORE\, PH.D.\, RN-BC\nASSOCIATE PROFESSOR\, COLLEGE OF NURSING\, TEXAS WOMAN’S UNIVERSITY\, CURRENTLY A FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR IN EGYPT\nDr. Brenda Moore is an Associate Professor at Texas Woman’s University and the director of the university’s Center for Global Nursing. Dr. Moore was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Jordan School of Nursing in 2018 and is now working through the Fulbright Program again in Cairo as a consultant. She is passionate about the global scope of nursing and focuses her research on best practices for supporting L2 nursing students so they can be successful in their programs. Today\, as a researcher and educator\, Dr. Moore strives to discover the needs of English-as-a-Second language nursing students and create methods that lead to success for these individuals. Dr. Moore’s overarching goal is to educate\, support\, and mentor all students to become outstanding nurses in the global world of healthcare. \nDr. Moore’s credentials include a doctorate degree in nursing education from the University of Nevada\, a masters’ degree in nursing education from Michigan State University\, and a baccalaureate nursing degree from the University of Alabama.
