Participants will learn about the many different types of barriers\, why they exist\, how to navigate these complex waters\, and what steps to take to develop robust international relationships that maximize research and creative activities across borders. He previously served as a program manager at the Office of International Science and Engineering at the National Science Foundation. Nader has served as PI and Co-PI on NSF\, Department of Education\, State Department\, as well as public-private funding\, including                                                                           awards from Japan. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\nDr. Warren Burggren is a University Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas and has been a visiting researcher at universities in Australia\, Brazil\, Canada\, Denmark\, Mexico\, Panama\, and Taiwan. Burggren has served as Department Chair\, Dean and Provost\, and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Burggren’s biological research projects have been funded by multiple agencies and private entities during his career\, including more than 40 years of continuous National Science Foundation funding.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\nDr. Lillian Butungi Niwagaba is the Director of the Center for Global Health and Assistant Professor in the Clinical Specialties department at the New York Institute of Technology. She has extensive experience in planning\, overseeing\, and assessing undergraduate\, graduate\, and post-graduate global health and other service learning programs. Her research agenda revolves around university partnerships\, global health and medical education\, comparative education\, community engagement and service learning impact on host communities. Niwagaba serves on the Board of the\n                                                  Kellerman Foundation (KF) which provides health and hope in rural areas\n                                                  in southwestern Uganda.
